Project Wastefree Workplace

This collaboration is about more than just cups

- it’s about setting a new standard.

Together with Panter, Volvo Cars aims to pilot a scalable and user-friendly system for reusable cups that can be applied not only at Volvo Cars but across other workplaces and industries.

This pilot is a joint effort between Volvo Cars, Panter, Compass Group, Nordrest, and Tingstad—each bringing valuable expertise to the table.

By reducing waste and rethinking everyday habits, we’ll take another step towards shaping a more sustainable future.

About the project

Reusable cups will be available at a brand-new reuse station placed in the kitchenette. Employees are able to grab a reusable cup, enjoy the coffee, and return the cup when done—quick, simple, and sustainable.

The reuse stations are equipped with automated cup dispensers that provide reusable mugs on demand, along with smart return bins that register returned cups automatically.

Each mug is tagged with an NFC sticker, enabling full traceability through Panter’s software. The dispensers and return bins are fully integrated with Panter’s system, allowing us to track usage patterns and improve the user experience.

Innovation by Panter in collaboration with:

By teaming up with industry leaders like Compass Group, Nordrest, and Tingstad, we’re working to redefine how coffee is enjoyed at work - without the waste.

Our goal

Our mission is to create a sustainable, scalable system for reusable coffee cups that can be replicated across other workplaces. The learnings from this project will not only help Volvo Cars reduce its environmental footprint but also inspire other organizations to take similar steps toward waste reduction.
